Flauti Diversi presents "Music in the Garden of Delight: Song and Dance of the Medieval Mediterranean"
On Friday, June 8, 2018 at 1:00pm, the early music ensemble Flauti Diversi presents a program entitled Music in the Garden of Delight: Song and Dance of the Medieval Mediteranean as part of the biennial Berkeley Early Music Festival and Exhibition.
Flauti performs songs and dances of the 13th and 14th centuries, monophonic and polyphonic, devotional and rowdy, including cantigas, laude, estampie, and Arabic repertoire.
The band members include: Frances Feldon, recorders/medieval flute; Allison Zelles Lloyd, soprano/medieval harp; Peter Maund, percussion; Sarah Michael, qanun (Arabic zither); and David Rogers, oud (Arabic lute).
The concert takes place at Rendon Hall of the CA Jazz Conservatory, 2040 Addison St across from Berkeley Repertory Theatre in downtown Berkeley. Tickets are $20 and are also available at the door. Advance reservations highly recommended.
